The first-time visitors to ERDC were in Vicksburg to explore increasing the size and scope of ERDC’s Graduate Institute, as well as research and technology transfer partnerships. Bit preservation ensures that a file remains exactly the same over time, while functional preservation goes further.  The file does change over time so that the material continues to be immediately usable in the same way it was originally while the digital formats evolve over time.

The most recent investment includes the ERDC headquarters building that is nearing 60 percent completion.  Yates Construction has implemented the use of Building Information Modeling to enhance the traditional construction drawings, designed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, with 3-D computer models.
