Engineer Research and Development Center Direct Hire Authority
The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is one of the most diverse engineering and scientific research organizations in the world. We provide high quality, responsive, engineering and environmental research and development support to the Army and the Nation. As part of the US Army Corps of Engineers team, ERDC develops innovative science and technology solutions to support warfighting, infrastructure, environmental, water resources, and disaster operations. It consists of seven laboratories at four geographical sites in Vicksburg, Mississippi; Champaign, Illinois; Hanover, New Hampshire; and Alexandria, Virginia. ERDC employs more than 2000 engineers and scientists.
Direct-Hire Authority (DHA) is an appointing (hiring) authority that gives a Federal agency the ability to fill vacancies when a critical hiring need or severe shortage of candidates exists without regard to sections of title 5 United States Code (U.S.C.). Some of the ways that DHA expedites the hiring process is by eliminating the need to post job announcements on USAJOBS, the application of veterans’ preference (non-Veterans and Veterans are considered equally in hiring), and removes the rating and ranking process of the candidates. ERDC is looking for engineers and scientists who want to tackle tough problems. We are currently accepting DHA applications for candidates with advanced degrees for engineering and scientist positions in the following job families:
Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare Family
Biological Sciences Family
Engineering and Architecture Family
Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics
Interested DHA candidates should send their resume and unofficial transcripts to:
