    CERL Team develops new decision support tool

    A U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center Construction Engineer Research Laboratory (CERL) team has been working to develop a tool called Facility Investment Analytics, or FIA. FIA is a decision support tool for the Installation Program Evaluation Group Program Objective Memorandum planning that generates prioritized Facility Investment Plan data based on critical infrastructure requirements from Army senior leaders and risk prioritization analysis.

    Dr. Jane McKee Smith became the newest member inducted into the Waterways Experiment Station (WES) Gallery of Distinguished Employees in a ceremony held at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) main headquarters July 20, 2022.

    ERDC researcher earns patent for high performance photocatalytic material

    Dr. Emily Asenath-Smith's determination to develop low energy solutions to remediate water led her to develop U.S. Patent No. 11,298,689, awarded April 12, 2022, for “Multi-spectral photocatalytic compounds.”
  • More than 120 attendees from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and a multitude of federal agencies, as well as partners from allied nations with interests in the Arctic such as Canada and the United Kingdom, came to CRREL to discuss new technologies being developed, new means of international communication and how to overcome the challenges of maintaining Arctic dominance as a united group.

    As focus continues to shift towards the complexities of the Arctic, the Department of Defense (DOD) hosted an Arctic science and technology (S&T) summit at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, New Hampshire.

    VICKSBURG, Miss. — Since 2019, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Research Biologists Dr. Burton Suedel and Justin Wilkens have been working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Honolulu District to answer questions about whether dredging-induced sediment plumes could affect corals.
