    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Aquatic Plant Management Team in the Environmental Laboratory and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New England District are conducting a Hydrilla Research and Demonstration Water Study in the Connecticut River.

    ERDC assists the New England District in the management of hydrilla

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Aquatic Plant Management Team in the Environmental Laboratory is working alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New England District to research and develop effective methods in managing the aquatic invasive plant species hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) in the Connecticut River.

Nakita Smith, lead realty specialist with the Pittsburgh District, was chosen to participate in the detail program, now in its eighth year.

    Three inducted into Waterways Experiment Station Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees

    A new group of U.S. Army Engineer and Research Development Center (ERDC) retirees were celebrated for their contributions and enshrined into the agency’s most esteemed collective in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Dr. Alfred Cofrancesco, Patti Duett, and Dr. William Grogan were inducted into the Waterways Experiment Station (WES) Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees during the agency's Induction Ceremony Thursday, July 27, at the ERDC Headquarters Auditorium. The achievement is the highest honor a former ERDC-WES site employee could accomplish, and the newest inductees bring the total number of gallery members to 116.

    Luke Navarro, natural resource specialist with the Nashville District, has been selected as a participant for ERDC University. During his six-month research project at the ERDC’s Environmental Laboratory, he will work with scientific tools to automate analysis of geospatial data. During his orientation tour of four ERDC laboratories, Navarro, far right, visited the Aquatic and Wetlands Ecosystem R&D Center, where he will be based for his ERDC University project.
