Title:

Heating and Cooling Degree Days Model User's Guide

Author(s):

Byron M. Garton

Purpose/Abstract:

Heating and cooling the interior of occupied structures on Department of Defense (DoD) facilities is an import aspect of force stationing. The risk of increasing heating and cooling costs as a potential result of climate change is one factor affecting force stationing analysis. Assessing the impact of future climate change is an essential part of ensuring optimal stationing of the armed forces. This document describes the process of executing the Heating and Cooling Degree Days Model, as it exists at the time of this writing, within the common computational environment established under the software integration effort of the Integrated Climate Assessment for Army Enterprise Planning work package.
