    ERDC scientist to receive award for contributions to atmospheric and computational acoustics

    U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) scientist Dr. Keith Wilson has been named the 2024 recipient of the Acoustical Society of America’s (ASA) Helmholtz-Rayleigh Interdisciplinary Silver Medal in Computational Acoustics, Physical Acoustics and Engineering Acoustics.

    Hannah Wittmann, a research physical scientist at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, New Hampshire, recently returned from her first trip to Antarctica, where she helped perform critical crevasse detection and mitigation work along the roughly 1,000-mile long South Pole Traverse (SPoT) route.

    ERDC unveils newest supercomputer in recognition of Medal of Honor recipient

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) unveiled and dedicated its newest supercomputer, an HPE EX 4000, in honor of Medal of Honor recipient and Mississippi native, Cpl. William “Kyle” Carpenter, in a ceremony held at the organization’s Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

    Twinkling lights, holiday cheer return with ERDC Under the Lights

    Employees at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) have been hard at work stringing lights and hanging bows for ERDC’s annual holiday lights celebration. The public event is set for Dec. 7-8, from 6-8 p.m., with a separate employee-only night scheduled for Dec. 6. Visitors should enter through Gate 3, just south of the Main Gate at 3909 Halls Ferry Road.

    Three inducted into Waterways Experiment Station Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees

    A new group of U.S. Army Engineer and Research Development Center (ERDC) retirees were celebrated for their contributions and enshrined into the agency’s most esteemed collective in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Dr. Alfred Cofrancesco, Patti Duett, and Dr. William Grogan were inducted into the Waterways Experiment Station (WES) Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees during the agency's Induction Ceremony Thursday, July 27, at the ERDC Headquarters Auditorium. The achievement is the highest honor a former ERDC-WES site employee could accomplish, and the newest inductees bring the total number of gallery members to 116.
