    ERDC’s Taylor Rycroft named USACE Researcher of the Year

    A researcher with the U. S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Environmental Laboratory (EL) is receiving recognition for his role in protecting the environment. Taylor Rycroft, a research environmental engineer, was named the 2024 USACE Researcher of the Year for his work with the Wellbot and Cyanobacterial Suppression Through Ultraviolet-C Neutralization (CyanoSTUN) technologies.

    ERDC earns high scores on annual student survey

    This summer, ERDC hosted a record-breaking number of interns at its seven laboratories—544 of them to be exact. Ninety-five percent of the students, interns, and fellows who worked at the organization during Fiscal Year 2024 agreed in an annual student survey that ERDC’s work activities provided a positive learning experience.

    Ruth Osburn, who worked as a certified occupational health nurse specialist for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Health Services Office for 17 years, officially retired Friday, July 12, after a 49-year nursing career.

    ERDC hosts over 100 local students during annual Earth Day celebration

    More than 100 students from the Academy of Innovation, Porter’s Chapel, and St. Aloysious High School attended ERDC’s annual Earth Day Celebration Monday, April 8, in the ERDC Headquarters Building Auditorium. Engineers from several of ERDC’s laboratories set up interactive displays in the Atrium and spread information to the local students about how they can help keep the Earth healthy while also introducing them to the work done at the agency.
