ARLINGTON, Va – ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory’s Dr. Paul Mlakar recently participated in the annual meeting of the Engineering Accreditation Commission’s Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) held recently in Arlington, Va.

 

During this meeting the commission approved the accreditation actions for nearly 800 engineering programs at 156 institutions.  This process importantly assures the quality of engineering education in the U.S. and internationally.

Founded in 1932, ABET was the Engineers’ Council for Professional Development, an engineering professional body dedicated to the education, accreditation, regulation, and professional development of the engineering professionals and students in the United States. ABET provides world leadership in assuring quality and in stimulating innovation in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology education.
