USACE aims to meet current needs and prepare for future challenges, enhancing the nation’s water resources, enabling economic growth, and promoting public safety.
The USACE Civil Works RD&T Strategy emphasizes collaboration and partnering as key enablers, both internally and externally.
ERDC established an interagency, interdisciplinary community focused on 3D-printing natural materials for habitat and coastal resilience, driving innovative solutions for dredged sediment management and habitat restoration.
ERDC is developing capabilities to perform inspections remotely and autonomously. Using modified commercially available robotic platforms, USACE can remove inspectors from hazardous locations while still allowing them to perform visual inspections of critical infrastructure.
ERDC is enabling rapid, cost-effective production of large-scale metal components, including vintage parts, improving manufacturing speed, design, and infrastructure resilience to meet supply demands which positions USACE as a leader in efficient civil engineering solutions.
