    ERDC and USACE New York District partner on New York Harbor field testing

    Four U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) laboratories, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District (NAN), recently joined forces to conduct a series of anchor penetration-depth field tests at Stapleton Anchorage in the New York Harbor.

    Coastal engineer rescues children caught in large vessel wakes

    In March, Tanner Jernigan was supporting an ongoing research project on Tybee Island, Georgia, when the unthinkable happened and Jernigan jumped in to rescue the lives of three children. Jernigan, a coastal research engineer with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), works at the ERDC Field Research Facility, part of the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory.

    Corps of Engineers District selectees graduate from ERDC University

    Participants from eight U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Districts graduated from ERDC University (ERDC-U) in September. Now in its ninth year, ERDC-U pairs Corps division and district participants with relevant laboratory mentors for six-month research projects.
