    Three inducted into Waterways Experiment Station Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees

    A new group of U.S. Army Engineer and Research Development Center (ERDC) retirees were celebrated for their contributions and enshrined into the agency’s most esteemed collective in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Dr. Alfred Cofrancesco, Patti Duett, and Dr. William Grogan were inducted into the Waterways Experiment Station (WES) Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees during the agency's Induction Ceremony Thursday, July 27, at the ERDC Headquarters Auditorium. The achievement is the highest honor a former ERDC-WES site employee could accomplish, and the newest inductees bring the total number of gallery members to 116.

    Honoring over 35 years of service

    On Friday, May 6, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Corey Hill was honored with a retirement ceremony at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Construction Engineer Research Laboratory (CERL). Friends, family and co-workers were in attendance to celebrate his 35 years of military service.

    A call to serve: One Soldier remembers 9/11

    On Sept. 10, 2001, Maj. Jarrod Gillespie, who now serves as deputy chief of contracting at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), was a junior at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. He enlisted in the Army Reserves right out of high school, and while he enjoyed being a Soldier, his plan was to graduate from Alcorn State, finish his military service and begin civilian life as a culinary arts student with plans to open his own restaurant. The next day, everything changed.

    Earlier this summer, Dr. Amy Bednar, an employee of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), joined the prestigious ranks of U.S. Army War College alumni.
