    Keith Flowers, the deputy director of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL), is passionate about getting involved in the community he calls home.

    A Vicksburg Boy Scout troop recently visited the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Waterways Experiment Station for a weekend campout and a hands-on look at some of the center’s latest and greatest technology and research.

    While on a trip to the Republic of Korea to conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assemsments, a team from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s Information Technology Laboratory was forced to quarantine upon arrival for 14 days. To pay forward the kindness of volunteers who helped them through their quarantine, the group decided to spend time packing care packages for others who would be faced with the same situation.

    Trip to Republic of Korea provides opportunity to give back

    A team from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) recently deployed to the Republic of Korea to conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assessments of operational technology (OT), control systems and supervisory control and data acquisition systems on behalf of the Department of the Army. Due to local COVID-19 restrictions, the Advanced Threat Landscape and Simulations (ATLS) team was required to quarantine in barracks at Camp Humphreys for 14 days upon their arrival, a time they got through with the help of local volunteers. Grateful for their support, the team seized the opportunity to pay the kindness forward later in the trip.
