VICKSBURG, Miss. - Dr. Andrea Scott has been selected as the development program manager (DPM) at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Scott was previously with the ERDC Environmental Laboratory, where she served as a research chemist.
Her new duties will encompass assessment, design and advancement of curriculum, materials, communications and coordination of employee development activities across ERDC. She will work in hand-in-hand with the ERDC training program coordinator on subjects specific to employee development to enhance ERDC employees’ capabilities and careers for the organization’s growth and success.
Scott’s previous experience includes a stint as a research associate at Jackson State University. She began her career as a research assistant at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, Slovak Republic.
Scott holds a master’s degree in mathematics and chemistry education and a doctorate in inorganic chemistry from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. She is an alumna of the ERDC Leadership Development Program and Emerging Leaders Group. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Chemical Society, the Mississippi Academy of Sciences and Sigma Xi.
