FORT BELVOIR, Va.—ERDC Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Reachback Operations Center (UROC) recently began participating in a data collection mission with the 249th Power Assessment Team in Fort Belvoir, Va.
From Sep. 9 through Sep. 20, the 249th used the Mobile Information Collection Application collection system to collect generator and power information on hospitals and other critical facilities throughout the New England area.
MICA systems are being used to collect this valuable data ahead of any potential natural disaster. Should an event occur this hurricane season, the nation will be more prepared, having already collected valuable power requirement information on these buildings, thereby significantly reducing emergency response time.
MICA was ERDC's 2012 USACE Innovation of the Year Winner, click on link to learn more about MICA.
