ERDC personnel monitor rapid runway repair for Army aircraft.

NELLIS AFB, Nev.—ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory’s (GSL) Timothy Rushing, Lyan Garcia and Kevin Taylor instructed Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne and Airmen from the 820th RED HORSE squadron on the installation of the Modified Fiber Reinforced Panel (FRP) Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) system, developed by ERDC, as part of a joint airborne training exercise at Nellis AFB, NV, 29-30 May. 

The FRP system is a part of ADR technology transfer effort funded by the Air Force Civil Engineering Center. 

The participants received classroom training on the tools and equipment scheduled to be added to the Mobile Airfield Repair Equipment Set and hands-on training for both concrete and asphalt pavement installation methods.
