American Chemical Society LogoNEW ORLEANS—An ERDC Environmental Laboratory (EL) researcher recently assisted with the organization of a multi-day session on transformative nanotechnologies at the annual American Chemical Society (ACS) national meeting.

EL’s Dr. Brandon Lafferty and Drs. Desiree Plata, Duke University, and John Fortner, Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., organized a three-day session on transformative nanotechnologies at the annual American Chemical Society (ACS) national meeting Apr. 7-9, New Orleans, La.

More than 35 leaders in nanotechnology presented their research in the areas of advanced applications of engineered nanoscale materials in energy and environment and the ecological challenges and implications posed by these materials.

The session was chosen by Environmental Science & Technology as its highlighted session for the New Orleans ACS national meeting.  The journal identified this session as “one of great interest to its readers” and will gather papers presented in the session in a new highlighted sessions virtual issue on its website, Environmental Science & Technology.
