VICKSBURG, Miss.—ERDC Information Technology Laboratory’s (ITL) Dr. Chris Bogen was recently named secretary for the Open Building Information Exchange (oBIX) technical committee within the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards.
The committee’s mission is to develop a publicly available web services interface specification that can be used to obtain data in a simple and secure manner from heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), access control, utilities, and other building automation systems, and to provide data exchange between facility systems and enterprise applications.
Additionally, the committee will develop implementation guidelines, as needed, to facilitate development of products that use the web service interface.
The oBIX technical committee plans to release the oBIX Data Standard Specification 1.1 soon, and work on Version 2.0 is under way.
