HANOVER, N.H.--ERDC Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) recently hosted a ceremony that inducted Dr. Devinder Sodhi, a CRREL retiree and current Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education visiting scientist, into American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Fellowship.

ASME Fellow Dr. John Dempsey and CRREL Director Dr. Robert “Bert” Davis presided over a ceremony on Jan. 25 that inducted Dr. Devinder Sodhi into ASME Fellowship.

Sodhi was recognized for his body of work, which includes contributions in the field of ice mechanics, such as ice forces on structures and breakthrough loads of floating ice sheets.

Sodhi retired from the CRREL as a senior research scientist following 23 years of service.

Matt Rolland, vice-chair of the Upper Valley Subsection also represented ASME, which claims more than 120,000 members in more than 150 countries.
