VICKSBURG, Miss.—The National Contract Management Association (NCMA) recently selected the Mississippi Chapter as winner of the 2011-2012 Walter R. Graalman Award at the silver level.  The NCMA Mississippi Chapter consists of professionals from ERDC, the USACE Vicksburg District, L-3 Communications, Jackson State University and Stark Aerospace.

The Graalman Award recognizes chapters that provide the best value to members, taking into account the demographics and unique aspects of the chapter.  In completing the Chapter’s Annual Report (CAR), NCMA’s goals and objectives are incorporated. The Graalman Award serves as recognition for chapter excellence and the demonstration of effective chapter operations.

The NCMA Awards and Honors Committee and the Graalman Review Team selected the chapter following a review of ERDC’s CAR.  This is the chapter’s inaugural year with NCMA.

The award will be presented at the 2013 Mid‐Year Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 19, 2013.

Anyone involved in contract management is eligible for membership and participation in the NCMA, including contracting and legal staff, project or program managers, finance staff and contracting officer representatives.
