BILOXI, Miss.--ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) Acting Director Dr. William P. Grogan was the keynote lunch speaker at the recent 2012 American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Mississippi Section Meeting in Biloxi, Miss.

His keynote address, “ASCE Vision 2025,” presented a road map of the aspiration vision for the civil engineering profession in 2025.  As trusted leaders of our society, civil engineers have to be master builders, stewards of the environment, innovators, and managers of risk and leaders of public policy to enhance our global quality of life.

Grogan is a member of the ASCE National Board of Direction, where he serves as director of Region 5 (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi).

The ASCE represents more than 140,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society.
