VICKSBURG, Miss.— ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Dr. Trudy Estes, a research civil engineer, was recently appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Soils and Sediments and will serve a three-year term as a subject editor for "Section 5: Sediment Management.
The Journal of Soils and Sediments is devoted to issues and research related to contaminated, intact and disturbed soils and sediments. The range of research coverage include the effects of disturbances and contamination; research, strategies and technologies for prediction, prevention, and protection; identification and characterization; treatment, remediation and reuse; risk assessment and management; creation and implementation of quality standards; and international regulation and legislation. Topics covered in the journal benefit both researchers and practitioners.
Editors help the magazine acquire suitable papers for publication and assist authors with the review process.
