WASHINGTON, D.C. – ERDC Construction Engineering Research Laboratory’s (CERL) William Goran, director, Center for the Advancement of Sustainability Innovations, and Staff Engineer Sam Higuchi, Environmental Management Division, Office of Strategic Infrastructure, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), recently co-chaired a session of the Interagency Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation forum at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Speakers and their subjects included Ann Kosmal, General Services Administration, and Steven Woodbury, Department of Energy, presented “Adapting Federal Facilities to Climate Change”; Margery Moore, “Communicating Climate Risk”; and Kenneth Kunkel, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites, “National Climate Outlook for the U.S.”
Eighty-eight attendees, from 16 agencies and all the military services, participated in the forum, about half attended on-site and the remainder via webinar.
The purpose of this inter-agency forum is to provide an informal venue for sharing data, approaches, scenarios and expertise relative to forecasting and responding to climate change impacts.
