VICKSBURG, Miss. — ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) researchers Dr. Lucy Priddy and Jonathon Griffin, with the Airfields and Pavements Branch (APB), were recently selected as charter members of a new Transportation Research Board (TRB) Young Members Subcommittee.

Established in 1920 as the National Advisory Board on Highway Research and later renamed several times, the TRB is one of six major divisions of the National Research Council, providing leadership in transportation innovation and progress through research and information exchange.
With more than 4,000 international members, the TRB is divided into 11 technical groups, including the Design and Construction Group (DCG), which Priddy, Griffin, and a number of other GSL researchers participate in annually.

The Young Members Subcommittee will provide advice and recommendations to the TRB concerning the technical needs of young professionals and how to attract these professionals towards committee activities.

Additionally, Priddy was recently nominated to serve on the TRB Young Members Council to represent the interests of the DCG before the entire TRB membership.
