VICKSBURG, Miss. — ERDC Environmental Laboratory (EL) Budget Analyst Cheryl Boyd, has earned the distinction of Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM).
This certification, provided by the American Society of Military Comptrollers, to both civilians or military members of the Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Coast Guard, or employees of defense contractors and suppliers, is achieved by successfully passing rigorous testing in the area of financial management in which an individual needs a comprehensive knowledge of accounting, finance, budget, fiscal law, audit, and manpower.
To maintain CDFM credentials, an individual is required to complete 80 hours of Continuing Professional Education within a two year period.
This certification is part of the DOD's effort to improve the knowledge and greatly enhance the abilities of the workforce charged with managing federal resources.
