Army's Westphal Speaks at ERDC EL Building Dedication

Vicksburg, Miss. - Under Secretary of the Army Dr. Joseph W. Westphal served as the keynote speaker at the dedication of the ERDC Environmental Laboratory (EL) headquarters building on 27 Sep.

This new $16 million, 85,000 square foot building provides offices for approximately 300 personnel.

Also speaking at the ceremony were U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Acting Commanding General Maj. Gen. Bo Temple.

While at ERDC, the Under Secretary also received briefings and presentations on a wide variety of advanced ERDC military research thrusts, including tunnel detection, improvised explosive devices, mobility research, force protection, and nanomaterials.
