BOSTON — ERDC Manpower Analyst Terri A. Lewis, Directorate of Resource Management, recently graduated from the Darlene H. Young Leadership Academy (DYLA), in Boston, Mass. The DYLA is a national program sponsored by Blacks in Government (BIG) for its members. Selection for the academy is highly competitive and requires one year of dedicated effort to the program, which focuses on team building, leadership development, reflective peer coaching for leaders, leadership values and vision, leadership dialogue and experimental learning teams. It also covers the competencies of leading change, leading people, business acumen, building coalitions and communications. BIG and the Graduate School USA partnered in 2006 to form the program to develop professional and personal leadership skills for BIG members.

Graduates receive continuing education units and are certified for leadership competencies by the Graduate School USA. Lewis and 20 other graduates represent DYLA's fifth graduating class. Her selection and completion of the program recognizes her leadership potential, dedication and commitment to public services.
