MEMPHIS, Tenn. - ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Fish Ecology Team was asked recently by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Mississippi Valley Division and Memphis District to make a field presentation on fish of the Mississippi River as part of the Fifth Partnership Conference in Memphis, Tenn.

The EL team captured commercial, recreational, invasive, and endangered fish in the Mississippi River, brought the fish aboard a Corps' inspection barge, and discussed challenges and opportunities in managing and conserving the high diversity of aquatic species that occur in our nation's largest river system.

The conference brought together colleagues from USACE, The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society, The Conservation Fund, and other federal, state and non-governmental organization conservation partners to discuss collaboration on ecosystem restoration and sustainability in the Mississippi River.
