ERDC Hosts New Mississippi Chapter—NCMA

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Mississippi Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) celebrated achieving its new charter Nov. 10. Mark J. Lumer, NCMA Fellow, presided over the ceremony, which was held at ERDC-Vicksburg.

Lumer, a highly decorated U.S. Army civilian contracting official, retired in 2008 after almost 33 years of service. He was a member of the Senior Executive Service and the Army Acquisition Corps, with Level III certifications (the highest possible) in both contracting and program management. His many accomplishments and honors include being profiled in the July 2006 issue of Government Executive magazine and being selected by the White Houses and DOD to represent the Army around the world while training companies that supported the U.S.in Iraq. He is the primary author of the "So you think you know" series of articles for NCMA.

NCMA is a non-profit association of individuals from industry, government and academia who deal in the fields of acquisition, contracting and procurement. NCMA membership and participation are avenues to continuing educational and professional growth in the contract management community.

Current membership in the Mississippi Chapter consists of professionals from the Corps' Vicksburg District, ERDC, L-3 Communications, Jackson State University, and Stark Aerospace.
