HANOVER, N.H. — ERDC's Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) recently signed an Educational Partnership (EPA) with Vermont's Blue Mountain Union (BMU) School.

Located in Wells River, BMU serves approximately 460 students from pre-school through grade 12 and houses the central office of School District 21. The school brings together the Vermont communities of Groton, Ryegate and Wells River.

An EPA is an agreement under which a Department of Defense laboratory works with an educational institution to encourage and enhance study in scientific disciplines at all levels of education. BMU will continue its long-standing collaboration with CRREL to include visits, connections with CRREL researchers and scientists, potential mentoring relationships, expertise, equipment, and technology to foster science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.

The laboratory currently supports numerous districts and/or schools throughout central New Hampshire and Vermont and focuses its interaction through the STEM initiative.
