Resource Management hosts team building

Resource Management staff from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi, attended off site training Aug. 1-2. Attendees are Mazella Thomas-Manpower officer, Linda Barfield-Budget officer, Kimberly McLaughlin-Revolving Fund team lead), Jennifer Maher-Programs/Reimbursable team lead), Sissy Hudson-RM director, Kim Ignasiak-Accounting Reports/Customer Service team lead, Carl Camp-Finance and Accounting officer and LaVerne Green-Accounting Operations team lead.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (Aug. 16, 2017) -- The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s Resource Management staff held a supervisor/team lead off-site meeting at Millington, Tennessee, Aug. 1-2. RM plans to hold the event annually. Attendees included Mazella Thomas, Linda Barfield, Kimberly McLaughlin, Jennifer Maher, Kim Ignasiak, Carl Camp, LaVerne Green and Sissy Hudson, RM director.

Several key topics were addressed including aligning and validating our strategic and operational framework, assessing our RM battle rhythm, developing and sharpening communication, promoting collaboration and sustaining a unified team.

Julie Marcy of ERDC’s Environmental Laboratory directed discussions and led several team building exercises, which focused on critical thinking for decision making. Teamwork, collaboration and communication were also key areas of emphasis.

All RM teams were represented with each branch providing a presentation of their team, duties, responsibilities and challenges, as well as areas for improvements.
