ERDC’s Field Research Facility hit by nor'easter

A strong nor'easter caused significant erosion on the public beach in Duck, North Carolina, in late January. Post-storm surveys revealed the storm’s true power: in addition to pushing a sandbar further from shore, it carved away enough sand to fill 877 medium-sized dump trucks. (Photo by Mike Forte)
