Soldiers from 5th Engineer Battalion extract the Ready Armor Protection for Instant Deployment, or RAPID, system from its storage container to secure the entrance way of Training Area 230 on Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., during the Maneuver Support, Sustainment and Protection Integration Experiments-2020 Aug. 17, 2020. Researchers from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center provided this protection technology to test and demonstrate the capability of the system and validate its performance.
