Emily Asenath-Smith, Ph.D.
Research materials engineer Dr. Asenath-Smith provides a strong background in surface chemistry, interfaces and crystallization to a range of cold regions materials topics for the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center. In ice adhesion, she both leads basic research efforts and designs novel testing approaches to meet the needs of a diverse customer base. Leveraging her background in composites, Asenath-Smith has built an entirely new interdisciplinary research program on ice composites, bridging nanoscale structure to macroscale performance, for cold regions installations.
