Corps of Cadets meets Corps of Engineers
HANOVER New Hampshire – Research Engineer Leonard Zabilansky points out capabilities of the Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Ice Engineering Facility to eight U.S. Coast Guard Academy cadets and three faculty members during a laboratory site visit here April 14. "Our R&D center and the Cold Regions lab (CRREL) work together routinely," said U.S. Coast Guard Academy Associate Professor of Civil Engineering Hudson Jackson, Ph.D. ERDC and the Coast Guard are focused on solving many of the same issues facing the nation like coastal navigation, harbor maintenance, and oil spill cleanup, just to name a few. It's a real plus for the Academy to be able to make a short trip to CRREL for a hands-on student experience that demonstrates how R&D can help them shape the future." (www.cga.edu)
