GSL’s Vickey Moore was presented the Emerald Honors Research Leadership Award at the 2017 Black Engineer of the Year Awards Science, Technology, Engineering and Math conference held in Washington, District of Columbia. This award is granted to scientists who have proven to be consistent leaders in discovering, developing and implementing new technologies, and whose work changes the way people live and work. In addition to being presented the BEYA award, USACE Commanding General and Chief of Engineers Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite formally recognized Moore with a Department of the Army Certificate of Achievement and the Commander’s Coin in honor of her selection as a Research Leader Award recipient at the BEYA STEM conference.
