Saving a history of innovation and ingenuity
Water sprays from the barrel of a self-propelled howitzer, one of many unique prototype vehicles tested at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center since the 1960s that historian Terry Winschel is trying to save as part of Army history. “All these vehicles … tell the stories of the creative, innovative responses to the challenges of their times,” Winschel said.
