TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
Research experience includes the use of state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques such as
synchrotron-based X-ray and infrared spectroscopies to study reactions between highly reactive
minerals and environmental contaminants at the atomic scale. Led research programs to
develop field-portable environmental analysis tools and methods as well as rapid-response
predictive modeling to support pandemic responses.
