The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center is a premier research organization focused on solving the toughest challenges confronting our nation and our Warfighter.
Leveraging the expertise and experience of nearly a century of research excellence, ERDC consists of seven world-class laboratories, cutting-edge facilities and technologies, and a talented and dedicated workforce.
What began in the 1920s as a team focused on flood prevention methods along the Mississippi River has flourished into an engineering force with impact on a global scale.
Boasting expertise in the areas of cold regions science and engineering; civil and military engineering; blast and weapons effects on structures and geo-materials; battlespace terrain mapping and characterization; coastal, river and environmental engineering; military installations and infrastructure; computational prototyping for military platforms, ERDC is the go-to organization for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Army, and for much of the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
We serve as DOD leaders in survivability and protective structures, understanding additive construction methods, developing innovative techniques to maintain and repair airfields and pavements around the world, and developing and sustaining critical installations for our military personnel and their families, among other areas.
Our capabilities are advanced by world-class facilities and equipment, ranging from high-performance supercomputers to one-of-a-kind physical models.
As someone who grew up in this organization, I know the biggest driver of our success is our people – the true Power of ERDC.
The passion and commitment they have for this organization and its mission are what makes ERDC special and what will continue to drive our success in discovering, developing and delivering the innovative solutions demanded by our military and our nation.
