Application Instructions

Please submit all applications to CHL-ECHO@usace.army.mil by the closing date listed on the research opportunity page. With the exception of letters of recommendation, all components of the application should be included in one email. Please also identify who is submitting letters of recommendation on your behalf in your submittal email.

Application Components:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Resume
  3. Official Transcript
  4. Up to 3 letters of recommendation (can be confidentially sent directly to CHL-ECHO@usace.army.mil if desired with applicant’s name as the email subject)
  5. 5 page or less research proposal addressing the research call in solicitation.  Proposals must contain the following sections: (1) Motivation; (2) Background; (3) Research Question/Objective; (4) Technical Approach; (5) Expected Products/Outcomes.

Cover Letter/Resume should make clear the applicant’s level of proficiency and experience with the tools and techniques proposed.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss potential projects with the soliciting research advisor prior to submittal to determine what additional resources are available to support the project.
