VICKSBURG, Miss. - ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Damarys Acevedo-Acevedo was recently awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Mississippi Section Young Engineer of the Year Award for 2011 at their local section meeting in Jackson.
Acevedo-Acevedo is an active member of the local ASCE chapter and the Society of American Military Engineers. She is seeking a graduate degree in engineering from Mississippi State University, while continuing to use her engineering skills in the research and development environment at EL. Acevedo-Acevedo is an Engineer in Training and will take the Professional Engineer exam this fall.
Acevedo-Acevedo joins approximately 1,000 active members of the Mississippi Section ASCE (founded in 1969), which includes members from all disciplines and sectors of civil engineering.
