ERDC lightweight airfield matting gives U.S. military speed, flexibility in contested environments

A lightweight expeditionary airfield matting system, designed by ERDC, was recently deployed and tested alongside the U.S. Air Force in Guam. The Airfield Mat Lightweight system, or AML, is an expeditionary airfield matting capability designed to reduce logistics burdens, accelerate deployment and give Warfighters more flexibility in austere environments.
