Technology Transfer: Converting Multizone HVAC Systems from Constant to Variable Volume

Abstract: This project promotes awareness and facilitates implementation of a low-cost controls retrofit for multizone air handling systems as an interim solution for energy efficiency that accrues savings while delaying system replacement. Implementation tools support technology evaluation and rapid implementation. Products include the following: fact sheet, technical note, pitch briefing, scoping guide, savings estimator, procurement package templates, commissioning guide, and on-line training. Multiple outreach activities occurred including presentations, journal articles, and contacting potentially interested parties.

U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center signs Partnership Intermediary Agreement

VICKSBURG, Miss. - The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) entered a new Partnership Intermediary Agreement with DEFENSEWERX, a non-profit 501c3 organization, to establish an innovation hub called ERDCWERX in Vicksburg, Mississippi. ERDCWERX is a force multiplier that leverages technology outreach, creates new collaboration channels, and accelerates product transition to the global market that directly benefits our military and the commercial sector. ERDCWERX will also increase small business participation and effectively facilitate novel innovation, collaboration and workforce development principals and tools.
