CERL’s Delaney selected “Individual Expert” by the nominating committee for the Acoustical Society of America Committee on Standards

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.--ERDC Construction Engineering Research Laboratory’s (CERL) David Delaney was recently elected to serve a one-year term as an individual expert (IE) with the National Standards Subcommittee on Animal Bioacoustics within the Acoustical Society of America.

The IE serves in an advisory capacity to the subcommittee and its leadership. The subcommittee has five working groups developing standards and technical reports on a number of topics, including animal bioacoustics terminology; effects of sound on fish and turtles; underwater passive acoustic monitoring for bioacoustic applications; noise and vibration in animal laboratory facilities; and description and measurement of ambient sound in parks, wilderness areas and other quiet and/or pristine areas.
