Cybersecurity Engineering and Analysis Branch selects inaugural chief

Krisa Rowland, USACE computer scientist, has been selected to lead the newly formed Cybersecurity Engineering and Analysis Branch in the Information Technology Laboratory at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

Krisa Rowland has been selected to lead the newly formed Cybersecurity Engineering and Analysis Branch in the Information Technology Laboratory at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

Rowland currently serves as associate director for cybersecurity in ITL’s High Performance Computing Modernization Program.  In this capacity, she was responsible for the protection and defense of all systems within the HPCMP to include all five Defense Shared Resource Centers and the Defense Research Engineering Network.   

The mission of the HPCMP is to accelerate technology development and transition to superior defense capabilities, which provide DOD’s scientists and engineers with the resources necessary to solve the most demanding problems through the strategic application of high performance computing, high speed networks, and computational expertise.  These five DSRCs, located at Army, Air Force and Navy research laboratory sites, provide a HPC computational environment, and include a full range of resources, including hardware, software, networking, data storage, archiving and visualization.

Rowland has served in several other capacities such as Information Assurance Manager on multiple projects and as an information technology specialist.  Her experience includes more than 15 years in the information assurance field.
She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a Certified Information Security Manager and a Certified SCADA Security Architect.  She earned a master’s in information management from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s in business information systems from Mississippi State University.
