R2TD team garners 2013 JCTD Team of the Year Award

VICKSBURG, Miss. - The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory’s Rapid Reaction Tunnel Detection (R2TD) team was recently selected for the 2013 Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD) Team of the Year award. 

The award honored the development of a tunnel detection technology suite that was transitioned, through the JCTD, to provide detection capability at home and abroad. 

ERDC’s Ron Elliston, Cherrie McClelland, Sarah McComas, Kenneth McLaughlin, Kevin Parkman and Jen Picucci, were recognized for their contribution to the demonstration effort conducted in fiscal year 2012.

Hicks, JCTD program director said, “You should take great pride in knowing your efforts have resulted in the rapid delivery of a much-needed capability to the joint Warfighter.  The contributions and accomplishments of the R2TD team have significantly improved the security of military bases throughout the world and to the security of our nation.”
