VICKSBURG, Miss.--The Mississippi Business Journal recently selected Attorney Thomas M. Taff Jr., ERDC’s Office of Counsel, for its Leadership in Law Class of 2012.

Leadership in Law recognizes the state’s leading legal professionals based on their professional and community achievements.  Forty-six Mississippi lawyers comprise the class of 2012.

Taff provides legal advice to the ERDC executive office, accountants and contracting staff for government laboratories doing business with universities and private firms.  He also deals with contract protests and disputes, along with cost issues.

“My job at ERDC has been a challenge; however, I have had an opportunity to deal with a myriad of complex legal issues,” said Taff.  “This is my first legal job, and I have experienced a good deal of professional growth over the last couple of years.  I am grateful for the opportunity to work here.”

Taff attended the University of Mississippi, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa in 2003 with a bachelor’s in history.  His education continued at the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he graduated in 2006.  He has worked at ERDC since 2006.

In 2008, he was awarded ERDC’s Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.  Taff is a member of the Mississippi and Warren County Bar associations.
