EL engineer receives ASCE Eastern Regional Younger Member Council Award

VICKSBURG, Miss.  ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Damarys Acevedo-Acevedo received the American Society of Civil Engineers' (ASCE) Eastern Regional Younger Member Council Award for Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Public Sector.

She was presented the award at the Eastern Regional Younger Member Council, hosted by the Society's Multi-Regional Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 21.

This award is presented to exemplary young engineers working in private and public sector engineering, with the requirement that they be 35 years of age or less on Dec. 31st in the year of the award.

In October 2011, Acevedo-Acevedo was awarded ASCE's Mississippi Section Young Engineer of the Year Award. She is an active member of the local ASCE chapter and the Society of American Military Engineers.
