GSL researcher selected for leadership post at TRB

VICKSBURG, Miss. — ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) Researcher Dr. Lucy Priddy was selected to serve as vice-chair, Transportation Research Board (TRB) Young Members Council (YMC) at the board's annual meeting in Washington, D.C., Jan. 23–27.

The TRB is one of six major divisions of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academies, providing services to the government, the public, and the scientific and engineering communities.

The TRB's varied activities annually engage more than 7,000 engineers, scientists, and other transportation researchers and practitioners from academia and the public and private sectors. The YMC seeks to encourage and expand young professional participation in all aspects of the TRB as it advances the national transportation research agenda.

Priddy's appointment as YMC vice-chair is scheduled for one year and will be followed by two years as the YMC chair.
