CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—Tarek Abdallah, Champaign, received a long-term training award from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. He will spend one year at the Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, Calif., to enhance his distributed energy modeling skills and expertise. The result is expected to be a comprehensive theoretical and working understanding of Sandia’s Energy Surety modeling and simulation and microgrid design methods. He will use the knowledge in support of the energy program at the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, where he is a research electrical engineer.
