OSAKA, Japan — ERDC Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) Scientist Dr. Keith Wilson was a keynote speaker at the recent INTER-NOISE 2011 Congress, held in Osaka, Japan.

INTER-NOISE 2011 is the 40th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering. The Congress is sponsored by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering, or I-INCE, and co-organized by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of Japan (INCE/J), and the Acoustical Society of Japan. This year's theme was "Sound Environment as a Global Issue."

Wilson's keynote lecture, one of eight, was titled, "Outdoor Sound Propagation: Recent Modeling Developments and Applications to Noise Control."

This year's congress and exposition hosted more than 900 international attendees. Wilson's lecture reviewed recent research in sound propagation that is pertinent to ERDC's Geospatial Research and Engineering and Environmental Quality/Installations business areas.
